How to get your first 5 reviews — and actually use them

Reviews are the fastest trust-builder you have. Here's how to get them without feeling awkward.

Your first five reviews matter more than your next fifty. They're what turns a brand-new profile into something a stranger will actually book from.

Ask at the right moment — right after you finish a job and the client can see the clean result, not days later over text. In person or a follow-up message within the hour works best.

Make it easy. Send the direct review link, not just 'leave us a review on Google.' Every extra step loses people.

Offer a small thank-you, not a bribe — a discount on their next clean for leaving honest feedback is fine; paying for a specific star rating isn't, and most platforms prohibit it anyway.

Once you have a review, use it everywhere: a graphic on social, a quote on your website, a screenshot in your Google Business posts. One good review can be turned into three or four pieces of content.
