What to post before you have any clients
You don't need finished jobs to start building an audience. Here's what to post in week one.
Every new cleaning business owner hits the same wall: the advice all says 'post before and after photos,' but you don't have any clients yet. That's fine — there's a full month of content you can make before your first booking.
Start with your founder story. Why you started this business, what kind of cleaning you specialize in, what makes your approach different. People hire people, not logos, especially in a local service business.
Show your setup. A photo of your supplies, your car getting stocked, your first business cards — these feel small to you, but to a potential customer they signal that you're real, organized, and already operating.
Do a few 'tip' posts. Quick cleaning hacks, a mistake homeowners commonly make, a product you swear by. This positions you as knowledgeable before you've cleaned a single home.
Announce your service area and launch offer clearly, more than once. A lot of new owners post it once and assume everyone saw it. They didn't.
Finally, ask people to share. A simple 'know someone who needs a cleaner? tag them' post costs nothing and often gets your first lead before you've done a single job.
